Additional Information About Jay
I'm qualified to teach every aspect of guitar from technique to theory up to and beyond grade 8 standard (both Rockschool and Trinity syllabi).
I have 20 years playing experience, including performing all around the UK. Stylistically, I specialise in Blues, Rock, and Metal, with an emphasis on guitar/fretboard theory and application. Pop/chart music can also be catered for. I teach both electric and acoustic guitar.
From an academic standpoint, I am a trained and certified Music Teacher, having completed a PGCE with the Manchester Metropolitan University. I have 1:1 undergrad degree in Popular Music and Recording from The University of Salford, and I also have a Grade 8 Distinction certification in electric guitar. As well as this, I have a number of experiences teaching in a wide range of situations. Currently, as well as teaching guitar privately, I teach guitar and ukulele at various schools throughout Calderdale. Rest assured, you'll be in the know.
My lessons are crafted to the individual, literally. So whether it is just fun you are looking for, or you are a serious guitarist looking to push the boundaries of your playing and knowledge, I can help you. I can deliver tuition towards the Rockschool and Trinity exam syllabi, and currently have a 100% pass rate at Merit and Distinction levels.
For every lesson I deliver, lesson materials can be provided where appropriate.
I can offer lessons in my home teaching studio either in person or via Skype, or I may be able to travel to you, subject to location. Depending on the amount of time I may have spend travelling, this may incur an additional surcharge.
