This three-scene, three-song excerpt from “Kitty Whittington”, by The School Musicals Company are suggested as appropriate repertoire for the Group Performance element of a PAA Musical Theatre examination at Grades Premiere to 5. There are 20 roles, with more possible if needed, including all of the main characters from the full-length version, and plenty of opportunities for a good-sized ensemble.

For a smaller cast, it is permissible to cut some roles and share those lines between other characters, thereby creating larger roles. However, when doing this it is important to ensure that character traits, and the integrity of the scene, are not compromised. Note that, for examination purposes, larger roles could be split between two actors, (of course still ensuring that all candidates perform the minimum requirements for their grade). As an example, suggested grades per scene have been included for the role of Kitty Whittington.
